I don't understand the hatred aimed at Kate's mom, either. I wish those who criticize her would give some actual examples and/or proof of some nefarious behavior. Oh yeah .... They can't!
The reason why there is a comparison, and it isn't 'hate' if it is factual imo is because Mamma Middleton apparently went through great lengths to keep Kate in the orbit of the Royal Family. Some find that creepy.
I hadn't heard this before .... so what exactly did she do?
Bottom line, William did the proposing. Even if Kate (or her mother) really wanted to be with him, if they weren't a good couple it would never have gone anywhere.

My oldest has friends in the UK who k"now people" with regard to the Middleton family. Also there are countless reputable blogs which write about the family dynamics. Yes, for the most part, people do see Mrs. Middleton as pushy and grasping, having put her daughter in the forefront to attract William. It's also believed that she still holds a lot of sway over Kate.
I have no dog in the fight but I do believe Charles IS the father of Harry.

I posted some pictures earlier that note the resemblance between Charles and Harry based on the nasal bridge and their close set eyes. To me, they look very much alike. I also see the resemblance to Philip as well.
I think Harry has likely been tested at some point, but that the palace will never release that or comment upon it in any way. It is very unlikely that Harry will ever be king so there is no need. They would probably consider it unseemly to discuss it.
What I really wanted to add is that I've always felt that the man who raises and loves a boy and brings him to manhood IS his father, certainly the father of the heart and every way that counts. I don't think there has ever been any question that Charles loves that young man and vice versa. I've never heard anything to the contrary anyway.
In that respect, Charles truly is his father. As to Hewitt, father or not, I think he is looking to make a buck. It seems as though I read he was in dire financial straights.
As always, this is just my personal conjecture and speculation and doesn't mean a thing.

That's pretty true for most close mother and daughter relationships. Others, too. Some women have it with a sister.
