Re: Phrases You Hate To Hear

1. Speak your truth.  (Great to have your opinion but how about getting to the absolute truth?)

2. I have anxiety. (When used as an excuse to not deal with something.)

Also if someone says "relax" or "chill" when I'm upset about something and trying to communicate it, its' kind of like saying shut up or not understanding or dismissing what you are trying to say.

It just makes me more upset.

I've only heard guys say it.

Yup, or in my case my husband would always say "calm down"....not a good idea to tell someone to calm down when they are already all worked up!! Smiley Happy

Ah, yes, @Forbidden Fruit   "speak your truth" is the worst!  Ugh

I also hate when people say they are "keeping it 100" with you.

Actually, I agree with just about every poster here!  All of these phrases are annoying.

I dislike it when someone says they will "reach out" to me.

@PJinIA,

Yes!  "Calm down." That one especially-I was getting so annoyed I couldn't think of that which is the worst one-I think I blocked it out!Woman Frustrated

@Bonkers1 :  I know what you mean.  It had never occurred to me that I HAD a comfort zone, but if I indeed had one, why in the world would I ever want to leave it?!
