Re: Phone calls new high for the day.

@Sooner   That is very wise! We should all have landlines because one day we may regret getting rid of it. If something happens like back in July when many in the U.S. and other countries had tech problems because of a Microsoft anti V program, we will regret not having one.

I know before we got a whole house generator that our landline helped us call the power company, as all our wireless went out and our cell batteries were very low and wouldn't last if we had days without power.

Also, I suggest reading Lights Out by the famous journalist Ted Koppel. We must be prepared for anyting, especially after March 2020. A MUST read book, IMHO.

@QVCTVSpree Wise words, and I'm a person who likes to think ahead.  I got us a generator after one really bad ice storm.  Lesson learned the hard way!

Re: Phone calls new high for the day.

If I don't reconize the number, I don't answer.  But, there is a slight problem.  In the past when a doctor's office was calling (regarding appointments or information) it popped up the name of the healthcare facility where the Doctor was located.  Now it does not, it just says "out of area" or "unknown". I am assuming that the employees calling are either at some type of call center or working from home.  Anyway, I don't answer and they end up leaving a message. But the thing is I would have wanted to speak with an actual person. If it had the name of the Doctor's office I would have answered.   Annoying.

Re: Phone calls new high for the day.

I'm someone that will always have a landline if it is still offered. That way I have a backup if and when there is an issue with the cell tower. As far as annoying calls, I just let them go to VMS.

Caller ID is a blessing!  Heard the calls increase during inclement weather because they figure you are vlunerable.  Ha!
