We counted at least 13 or more, phone calls yesterday.  We think they stopped for lunch, then right back at it.  It was crazy!!! We couldn't believe how many calls the answering machine took.  We didn't talk to anyone.  LOL

I have found that disconnecting the call after the first or second "ring" will have them take you off "the list"...for being a non-working number.

 Call your service provider and see if they have Nomorobo call blocking available.  It has " quietened " our phone unbelievably.  No charge for the service.  Easy to use.

I got rid of my land line and all the calls were like that.  It was hard to do at first but thought give it a try and if I miss I can always hook up again.   Family and friends know my cell number.  I also block any calls ringing in not on my list.  I do have all the important calls on my list of contacts.  Doc, dentist, etc.

Don't miss it and anyone who calls can leave a message.  I like it also says potential spam call too.

Medicare and mortgage calls are bombarding my phone so I disconnected the VOIP line. It's quiet around here, finally. If someone wants to talk with me then they can leave a message.

We have had twice the normal amount.  Most of them were Medicare.  Sometimes hubby will answer just to "mess" with them.

@qualitygal.  You must be high on the scammer's list.  My phone hasn't rung since Tuesday.  I don't use an answering machine, just caller ID.  If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer.

This is why I absolutely don't miss for a second the landline that I dumped 10+ years ago!

And I get virtually no spam calls or texts on my cell.

Got rid of our landline so long ago, and I don't miss it.  Just block any scam calls on my cell phone.  I can't imagine fooling around with a answering machine anymore.  LOL
