Re: Petition to QVC =Keep the Forum OPEN

I hope that those who have made the decision to close the boards take a better look and realize that there is much at stake.  I understand that it can be costly to run the boards, but that is really just the cost of doing business (maybe even in write-offs but I do not know about that).  Businesses have to spend money to make money.

The Q has depended on the good will of their customers for over 30 years.  While I do not know the percentage, I think that many on these boards are age 50+ and closing the boards could be determined to be discriminatory and just morally wrong.  Of course, it is the business of the Q whether that is even a care.  I also believe that with today's climate, meaning that people are not leaving their homes as much and not leaving for various reasons, these boards provide a means of communication--some good and some not-so-good.  No matter, the Q benefits from sales because of the free advertising, i.e. reviews, that are on here.

The Q is always stating how much they love their customers.  By closing the boards, the message is that we really do not care about our loyal customers.  While it appears that management is trying to bring in younger viewers by offering those specials of get a Q card today and get a large credit, it is unfortunate that they do not see that younger people shop a very different way.  Tik-Tok rules.  It is the older customer who keeps buying from the Q and is loyal to the vendors.  When vendors lose money, so does the Q.  When vendors lose money, they leave.  We have already seen popular brands leave, and it is very possible that they were aware of the changes that we are just hearing about.

I hope that those who have made the decision to close the boards have a change of heart.  For me, I do not post often and I have decided to really limit my buying/spending by cancelling my Q card.  I have enjoyed the camaraderie on here, cringed at some of the postings, but have found a group who really do care about each other even if we have not met.  Other than picketing outside of the Q offices in West Chester, I have no idea how to keep the boards open except for the good will of management.  We will see what happens.  If not, I may see you on the other boards.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

PLEASE KEEP THE BOARDS OPEN QVC!!  It is so much easier to be viewing the site and run over to write something in here.  I would really appreciate your keeping this place open.

Re: Petition to QVC =Keep the Forum OPEN

Most of my purchases on QVC started as an item I saw while watching a show or looking on line.  It then became a purchase based on reviews and comments found on the forum.  Pros and cons were always greatly appreciated.  Avoided lots of returned items that way also.  I hope this petition makes a difference.  Thank you all.

Re: Petition to QVC =Keep the Forum OPEN

I think they should keep it open. It gives them a lot of very topical traffic for their Google ranking. And it gives them a unique view into the feelings and lives of their customers.

I think they will really regret it if they go through with this.

I hope the person who can save our current forums is compassionate to our dependency on the relationships and information gleaned from this comprehensive site.

Yes, by all means keep the Community Forums open the way they are.  It makes no sense closing them.
