After a 4 year battle with bladder cancer. Peter Paul and Mary was the first concert I ever say. I am very saddened by this news

I loved that trio, had all their records and 8-tracks! So sorry that another has crossed over but I read that he had a rough go of it for the past couple of years. I hope he's at peace.

He was a wonderful musician, but he was a creepy predator.
He was arrested and pleaded guilty for his gross behaviors with a 14 year old girl and sentenced to jail.
He only served 3 months when he was completely pardoned by President Carter. He went on to repeat his conduct with a least one other child.
He is the only se xual predator who ever received a presidential pardon.
The girl and her family were shocked.
He was not a nice man...very creepy.

What an indelible mark they leave in the music world! They brought so much joy, and pleasure. I loved them as well, I mean who didn't? I think they crossed all genres of music. Just a beautiful sound. Each time one of these artists pass it's like little pieces of my past flicker around me!!!. I am brought back flashes of the past. Music feeds us all in different ways. I was very much into the folk scene, coffee houses, lol. So Peter Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Odetta, and many more fed my soul. Still do. The good part is all of their music is still playing and around... enduring.

My first awareness of folk music was in the 4th grade...
a handsome neighbor young man dropped by our house to return something from his mother to mine?
He was a war veteran...had his guitar with him, and started playing PPM song "The Answer is Blowin in the Wind".
I WAS IN LOVE.
The only record I had in the basement was "The Music Man"!
This young man must have been my first love!

I agree 100%...very creepy. NBC news mentioned his death and contributions to music and then also mentioned his crime and presidential pardon. It saddens and sickens me that he got a get out jail free card and his crime erased. Our society has a long way to go in how we view crimes against children and women.
