Peter Yarrow From Peter, Paul & Mary...

...flew out of my airport yesterday.

I love their music.

They don't write music like that anymore, folk songs with a message.

When I saw him, and his name at checkpoint, in my head I was like, "You look familiar, and the name sounds familiar. I wonder...."

He was up here to do a one night show, and darn it, I missed it!

Another big fan here.   Sadly, Mary T is gone now but I have all their music and I catch everything I can about them.  They did at least one concert that was on PBS and I see it re-appear every now and then.

My favorite - Bob Dylan's 'Blowin' in the Wind' (particularly when PP&M sang it).    That's one of my 'it will make me cry every time' songs.  Smiley Happy

@Plaid Pants2  I saw your subject line and said, "Oh no.  Don't tell me..." as I clicked to open the thread.  Then I breathed a sigh of relief.

@chickenbutt  I am still missing Mary's beautiful voice and presence in the world.

I went to their concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado back in the 70s. It was great!

I knew them very personally........

We own a  private hauling company. Way back in the 50's , my DH picked up their garbage under contract........

They were wonderful people,so nice, regular ,so welcoming and friendly.   <3

I loved PPM. I still watch the special on them that PBS did several years ago, whenever it's on again.

I loved all their music, but Puff will always hold a special place in my heart.

@MalteseMomma  Whose garbage did he pick up?  The three of them didn't live together.... ?

I saw Peter Yarrow in concert a couple of summers ago - at an outdoor concert.

I was disappointed because he spent more time talking politics than singing songs - literally.  I didn't come to hear him for the politics. - just the music.  I love PP&M.

Politics have always, from earliest days, been a sizable part of who PPM were - and their views didn't change.

But I agree that as they have aged, and stopped performing together, and are now interviewed much more than they ever were in years past, they are speaking out more.

It might be a small airport, but a lot of celebs like going to quiet locations when they have time off.

My SIL used to work at the Jackson, WY airport.  She has seen hundreds of Hollywood celebs, including Harrison Ford and Sandra Bullock who both owned homes in the area.
