I have to say, my dog has been trained not to go on lawns. We go to the park only and I pick it up, in the trash they provide. She is one smart poodle. If she looked like she was going to head for lawn in the behinning, I say No Lawn. She now knows, and I say, good girl. I,m not kidding. I,m a responsible pet owner.

@qvcaddition we never let our dog go on any lawn either, it's only good manners, which obviously, by reading this thread, is lacking in some pet owners.

Here are 16 national retail stores that will welcome your pup with open arms on your next shopping trip.
1. Half Price Books
This used bookstore’s policy on four-legged friends is handled on a store-by-store basis: some locations welcome dogs, and others know their customers prefer to shop canine-free. For stores that do welcome pups, please keep your dog on a leash.
2. Abercrombie & Fitch
Sometimes you need your best friend’s opinion on whether those jeans look good or whether that top is flattering. Now, fashion-forward pet owners can bring their dogs into the store for just that reason.
3. Michaels
There’s no need to shop for craft supplies alone! Michaels allows dogs to accompany their owners in stores as they browse the aisles for new DIY projects. Perhaps you’ll be inspired to paint a doggie dish for your pooch?
4. Hobby Lobby
Another craft store that welcomes pups is Hobby Lobby. This dog-friendly establishment won’t bat an eye when you walk in with your canine companion in tow.
5. Sephora
When you’re in the mood to treat yourself to a new perfume, skincare regimen or lipstick, don’t hesitate to bring your dog into Sephora for a second opinion!
6. Tiffany & Co.
Diamonds are a dog’s best friend. That’s how the saying goes, right? Anyhow, Tiffany & Co. is happy to welcome your canine companion into their stores as you browse for something sparkly.
7. Bath & Body Works
Need a new body fragrance? Bath & Body Works is a dog-friendly store that will shower your pooch with affection as you try to decide between “Beach Cabana” and “Coconut Lime Breeze.”
8. Macy’s
This department store is more than just dog friendly. Many Macy’s locations also support local pet charities like A Forever Home Rescue Foundation and Happy Home Animal Sanctuary.
9. Barnes and Noble
Browse the paperbacks with your pooch at Barnes and Noble, where pet owners are invited to shop with their canine friends. You may be inspired to pick up one of our suggested books all dog lovers must read.
10. Home Depot
When it’s time to start your next home improvement project, head to Home Depot where your dog can help you pick out a new backsplash or window treatment. Who knew Fido had such strong opinions on home décor?
Here are a few additional stores that are dog friendly:
Hallmark
Ann Taylor Loft
Bass Pro Shops
Pottery Barn
Ross
LUSH Cosmetics
Restoration Hardware
Gap
Bloomingdale’s
Urban Outfitters
Foot Locker
Anthropologie
Free People
Nordstrom

If your dog is trained and clean great. My dog is better behaved than some kids in the stores.

We have an 82 year old neighbor - very active - mows her lawn w/riding and push mowers, weeds her multiple flower beds etc... She lets her two mini dachshounds out her kitchen door and they poop on her yard and are now pooping on our yard. She does have a fenced yard for them but doesn't like to clean up dog messes so doesn't use it.
I used to get upset when my BF would walk the husky and the dog would pee on her flowers but I think he's doing it to make a point (husky won't poop on a leash). He told me there is a LOT of poop. And any loose neighborhood dogs are now marking the area also.

@cindyNC Perhaps this is a response to your BF allowing your Husky to pee on and ruin her flowers?
Then again, if you and your BF were kind, considerate, and, thoughtful people, you would offer to pick up her dogs' droppings for her. She may give you flowers as a thank you.

@occasionalrain No, she is not responding to my BF letting the dog pee on her flowers. She has been doing this for far longer than he has been walking the dog.
In spite of the fact that she has a local son, many local grandsons (who use her for babysitting) - my BF is always the first person she calls when something goes wrong or she needs something. He is a kind, considerate, generous person and has always been very good with helping our neighbor out - even though he is the only fully employed man in a neighborhood of retirees.
She is capable of cleaning up her own dog waste and would be the first to complain if another neighbor's dog routinely soiled her lawn. She is a very active lady who just does not want to do yard clean-up - which is fine if it's her yard.

A few doors down from me is a couple with a golden retriever. They have an invisible fence but somehow their dog is always loose and seems to poop in my yard. Sometimes I think the lazy son just opens the door and lets it out and other times I get the "oh, I forgot to put the collar on". How many times can that happen.
So, one night I got so angry (I had seen the dog go on my front lawn) I picked it up in a bag and threw it on their front walk - believe me they are lucky I couldn't find the shovel or there would have been no bag.
Well, one night my hubby was out walking my dogs in my yard - he comes in the house and all of a sudden I'm smelling dog sh*t. Sure enough he stepped in it. Next day another pile. Went down to their house and knocked on the door. I know they were home I could here music. So I pounded on the door and continued to do so. Finally, I yelled I wasn't going anywhere. When the son's girlfriend answered the door (on her phone of course) I told her I was going to call animal control if I saw the dog in my yard again.
People are just plain rude. And, did you notice none of them walk their dogs on their own lawn.

@Mom2Dogs Yes put a nice sign up. You can find them on Amazon that are cute.
I think it will jar some of the dog walkers and wake them up that that is not nice to let their dogs do. Sometimes people just do not THINK about things like that... I totally understand how you feel.
