The dog loves a new toy for about two seconds and then runs to get his disgusting ""old skunk"" to play with. The elderly cats would rather get a few other food tidbits. I do have a plush toy for my son's dog though.

Thanks Holly ... The bird pecks at the paper and the bunny pushes his gift around his house!

No we don't because our 3 cats have an overflowing basket of pet toys, things you turn on that theyre supposed to chase, their own cat beds, their own water fountains, etc etc. Our cats don't play with anything. Theyre older, they mostly just lay around and eat. lol. Once in awhile one of them runs back and forth through the house, but that's it.

Our dog does and prefers squeaky balls. DH and I were at the grocery store testing them for the perfect one. We were totally engrossed and a woman walked by and said "" it has to be the right one "". Slightly embarrassed we continued until we found it Smiley Happy

This year, both dogs are receiving new beds and bowls. The cats are getting assorted toys and a new scratch post - which will probably be ignored, lol! Their stockings will hold a few edible treats. I don't have children, so I spoil my pets at this time of year, instead. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I shopped yesterday evening at Pet Supplies Plus. My little darling got her homemade treats, a bully stick, a big stuffed gingerbread woman and some fish oil supplements. I know that sounds crazy but she loves her fish oil pills.

I used to have to break the pill open and pour the liquid on food for my other dog but this one eats the entire pill right down like nothing. I ran out of them and she's been upset since.

We love our dog and spoil her with affection, but we don't give her presents. My dog wants for nothing. She has enough toys and gets occasional treats but nothing special for the holidays.

I'd rather spend any extra money I have on charity, where people (and animals) genuinely need it.

This year my border collie received a black and white, hand braided leather leash and matching collar from Germany. Actually, I guess this was my present because he doesn't care in the least what collar and leash he has on, as long as it matches. He only cares what is in the boxes that come from chewy.com. lol

I have an acquaintance who makes beautiful hand-braided leather leashes. I don't own one (yet), but maybe one day! Enjoy!
