They were reporting on NBC this morning that the newest thing is called "pet flipping'. Apparently your dog is taken and the people who took him/he contact you and tell you the dog can be yours again for a price. They even take legitimate lost dogs, knowing they can offer them for sale and get the owner to pay up.
At least there was one case where a woman called the police and when she went to the woman's house to pay the "ransom" the police came with her and arrested the woman. The criminal woman pet stealer said she was a single mom and needed diapers and didn't feel one bit badly for what she did. What a pig.
