Pet Chiropractor

Does anyone have experience with talking the dog to a chiropractor? My 3 yr shihtuz has hurt his back. He is on muscle relaxer and we did an x-ray. The x-ray showed there may be an issue at disk 6, but it was not clear. My vet recommended taking him to a pet chiropractor. I wanted to see what the experience of this board was with chiropractor. I will add that I have been going to my vet for 15 + years so I do trust her.
