There use to be a poster that shared all the very high-end jewerly that she had.
Whether it true or not, that was just asking for trouble.
And I wouldn't be shocked if there are people that keep track of us.
There still is a thread on the Jewelry forum where people post their jewelry. I shuddered when I saw it. The jewelry was lovely but it was an open invitation for trouble.
I agree with you @Trinity11. It's an open invitation for trouble. There already have been cases of thieves browsing social media for people who post images of valuables, and then the criminals find their location, and steal from them. Here, as mentioned in my previous post, it wouldn't take long to determine the real identity of a poster and their location.
I feel bad for the people there who seem to be oblivious to the fact that they are posting an open advertisement. I guess they are either unaware or they don't think it can happen to them.

@dooBdoo Do you remember years ago, people would put the city and state with their nickname?

@goldensrbest There may be new posters that think this is a secure website and all the people are nice and sweet.
In the past, there was a poster that many people loved and believed everything she said.
They were taken in and people got hurt.

Did people send money , if they did that was stupid,i thought maybe this was about people just telling too much information, about themselves.

I ran across a posting where the OP posted a pic of their new car. License plates clearly shown. I reported it.
Another thing that should be avoided on ALL public message boards & social networking sites (including Facebook & Twitter) is posting pictures of your minor children. These pics will eventually be shown on the "Dark Web" on certain "pervert" message boards.
NAMBLA has a message board & social site on the regular web. ![]()

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You pointed out a very distressful situation with people posting way too much info on their children on social media. Honest to goodness, I can't believe what is revealed on their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. I ran across one person who had a blow-by-blow description of her and her toddler's day (more like hour by hour) filled with info on their routines, who they were meeting, even that she is now pregnant with another child complete with ultrasound pictures which show her name, the name of the facility and other information. I was horrified at how naive some people are. She's a single mother and there are so many unsavory individuals out there who could be a threat to her, her toddler and unborn baby. I guess I watch way too much crime tv series, but it is shocking to see so much out there. Why are some people being so careless and act like they must post every part of their life?

Just bring the chips and salsa and you'll be welcome.
Oh, you might want to wear a coat and bring a blankie. Looks like a sleepover here. ![]()
