We ran out to do errands, we were next to a young woman in her 20's texting and doing a selfie... had those lips pursed out with a peace sign on her other hand... we caught back up to her and I was just shaking my hand at her.... little twit just drove on and paid no attention to an old lady.... This is what makes me so darn mad!!!!

They never think the statistics apply to them, so they continue to do as they please. Until, of course, they kill or injure someone else or themselves.
I see it all the time too, and it drives me crazy. Some of them will be driving 30 miles below the speed limit because they're too busy texting or talking and they're totally oblivious to people travelling behind them that just want to go the speed limit.

My husband's truck has a loud horn. Nothing is hooked up to it to make it that way, it's just freakishly loud. I love blaring that horn at texters. I act like it's 'not me' even though it's usually obvious.
I'd love to hold up a sign with a really obnoxious statement on it to the texters.
What kills me is, they go slow, so slow, because they are texting. You can tell way before you actually see it.
Then when their done texting they drive recklessly fast.

When I see someone texting, I unroll my window and tell them to stop.
One day a couple of weeks ago there was a lady in the lane next to me, texting her heart out and she almost side swiped my car. She had to be in her late 50's early 60's. At the light I unrolled my window and motioned for her to roll down her window. She did and I said you are seriously going to kill someone. I then told her she should be ashamed of herself and that if I hadn't reacted to coming into my lane, she would have hit my car for sure. She was embarrassed and said she was sorry. My daughter then called 911 to report her license plate. I don't know if anything came from that but I always report texters. Who knows, maybe they will get a visit from the police and it will wake them up a bit.
I think they need to invent a jammer like the soldiers use for cell phones in the ME that can be used for IEDs. Once the ingnition is on, the phone cannot receive or make calls or texts. I know we have the technology for it.

Can you report someone texting?

That's just awful. No, they don't care! Until it affects HER, she will go merrily along with no consideration for anybody else. It takes a very specific mindset to behave that irresponsibly.

I was livid watching her- and I see all of you have basically experienced the same thing with stupid people! It's like when it's pouring rain in sheets and no one turns their lights on, especially people in light colored vehicles... what is wrong with people anymore? Rules of the road don't pertain to them and oh yeah, I can do this.... Stupid stupid stupid!!!

The thing is, is that it only takes a minute to pull over into a parking lot and finish your text if it's all that important.
My cousin pulled over to the side of the road to make a call and a cop actually stopped and asked if anything was wrong. When she told him she was just making a call, he thought that was so unusual that someone would take the time to stop.

Who would've thought that texting (typing!) would be the popular way to talk all day long?
It blows my mind.
Especially once everyone had a cell phone in their hand to be able to talk to people.

I'm old enough to remember when we didn't even have a phone of any kind anywhere nearby while driving. How ever did we survive?????
