I heard someone say this is the third wave. Where was I during the second wave, I just thought it was a continuation of the first wave!

I've had trouble finding Bounty paper towels so I've been using Brawny which, although not as good, are still the best of the lower priced paper towels and they have select a size as well.

The news was saying to plan early this year. Smaller gatherings also mean a demand for smaller turkeys. Every day some news on food or speculations of lack of it.
The Cobern chain based out of St. Cloud, Minn. for Northern Minn. and Wisc. Is having a Holiday Baking sale. Flour, sugars. nuts, oils, peanut butter, coconut, canned milks, butter, oatmeal etc. Don't see shortages ? Everything is coming along well with stocking.

No problem whatsoever with paper products around here. All brands available. And I don't go to the store first thing in the morning.
But cleaning products are still pretty scarce.

Who wants to live with more bad news every day. I was glad I was able to use all that flour for the church that I cook for. Thank you for bringing that up.
I'm tired of all these **** threads of shortages, panic buying instigation, think people just like to think they created it . Makes them feel superior.
You can't ignore them their in the **** forums each and every day.
'Panty shortages', no more panty buying, stock up now will be next.
Won't be able to buy a pair of drawers next. ROFL
I think the media likes to fuel the flame with BAD NEWS.....I even spotted a national news anchor with a sly smile as she reported it... And all this talk DOES lead to hoarding....you can read about it in some threads here ....and see it in TV interviews of shoppers....
And I'm tired of half truths being reported....not all areas in some states are spiking...like our county....but they include us in the "doom and gloom"....no way is any area going to have zero new cases or zero hospitalizations..(we came close one day there were only 43 new cases, now its averaging around 171 to 191 per day)...but it seems the good news is seldom reported...you have to research it on your own....
@Spurt, I'm thinking that unless you're watching or reading local news, the national new will not go into various counties. So the fact does remain that in a large swath of the country, the virus is indeed spiking.
When we were seemingly going better a few months ago, I found that out from the news.
The news media should say that parts of the State are spiking (they should do their research which is part of their job as journalists)..I find it interesting that the FCC has rules about truth in news stories too...Per FCC "It is illegal for broadcasters to intentionally distort the news"
My state has 100 counties, I don’t think those NATIONAL broadcasters
you speak of are going to report county by county x 50. No one who lives 3000 miles from me knows about my county, or cares about it.
If you want LOCAL news, check your local news station, or grab a news paper. Further, stating what IS happening in one county is not distorting the news. Do you think anyone would want to hear, ‘and now for what is NOT happening, **** County has no cases.’

As I read it, it’s OK to clear the shelves of a product (while complaining about others doing the same) as long as you do the right thing with your haul.

The bottom line for me, @Drythe, is that we should remember that regardless of its blemishes, a free press is what separates us from an authoritarian state. I cringe when I hear it taking a beating. (not directed at you, @Spurt).

Exactly @Drythe. And as we know, virus transmission doesn't recognize county lines or geographical regions. So one county or an area in a particular state can have low numbers of identified cases, but when it is picking up steam around you it can certainly be in your area before you know it.
So for people that choose to, it pays to be aware and make decisions accordingly. That isn't about fueling the flames, it is about making people aware of what is going around them at the time. Or not. People don't have to listen to it.
