Do you ever feel like everything is just so insane or am I going or always have been crazy?!
Life is so full of dichotomies, from talking about fun insignificant things like eyeshadow to people being slaughtered on the street, to those we love, here today gone tomorrow, the so good and kind in people, to the most horrific we can imagine.
Just thoughts spinning madly around.
Maybe its so many deaths recently and horrible news-trying to make sense where no sense at all; not being able to do anything about it at all is and trying to keep hope and being positive and finding loving happy moments in times of such great stress in the world and in every day.
I feel like I have to and hope to in my own world to do the best, to give the best, to love the best that I can every day, every moment.
You know?!

I agree @on the bay we are bombarded daily with horrible headlines that just make you scream why??? I have intentionally stopped watching the news and unsubscribed online from these sites. I try to see the good in every day and when I can I always compliment a stranger or tell a person working hard I appreciate them. It makes me feel good knowing I might have brightened their day. Bottom line is we are all feeling this way at one time or another. Hugs to you and know you are not alone. 🙏❤️

@on the bay I agree with you. This is a strange time we are living in now with all this evil going on.
I will still keep trying to do good and trying my best and not letting these outside circumstances change me. Even if I do an act of kindness for a stranger, it will be changing things for the good.

Yes it seems the crazy has reached steroid levels and it seems never ending but remember never in history have we been so instantly connected, able to find out the most insane, violent and crazy news, watch the weirdest stuff, and respond in real time to anyone anywhere. This has contributed to everything going on seeming to be much more stress inducing. Before we would have to wait for the newspaper, or for it to be reported on the evening news. We also had faith in our media. We do know that there are now biases, and in some cases the open pushing of making people "feel" a certain way. People no longer willing to openly and evenly discuss issues instead immediately jumping to an "us vs them" attitude and possible violence. What was once the coolest thing ever (the Web) is now turned into a veritable cesspool of some of society's worst. There are still some worthwhile info out there but sadly, there is a plethora of false, ugly and just evil stuff. And like a drug addict, with the advent of smart phones, tvs, cars with internet access we now crave it if we don't get our daily "fix".
Sadly, I don't see a way back at this point. Society as a whole is too used to instant media gratification. The web has literally become "big brother". You can get almost anything you need on it. At this point all you can do is what you know is right, and hope for the best.

These are very trying times! I know there have been trying times throughout history and throughout the years. I think when I was younger, in my 20's, and maybe even early 30's I was not so aware of what was going on around me, in the country and in the world. I was more wrapped up, selfishly I guess, although I didn't realize it at the time, in my own things I was going through. As I've gotten older, I think --- wow --- are things getting worse --- or am I just more aware of what is happening???? It does seem to me that a lot of things are coming to a head or something. The pandemic has really added to all of this. I know we can't get into political discussions here, but goodness, a lot of this stuff is just very stressful, too!
I have to take a step back every now and then because I just get too wrapped up in it all and it really gets me worked up! I have to tell myself - stay informed, but don't let it take over you. So many things you have no control over -- but it doesn't mean that you don't care or that it doesn't bother you.
on the bay, as you have posted --- I feel the same. I try to be hopeful and have hope that things will get better and pray for the future. Being kind in our own realm and to those around us. If everyone would do that, it would have a ripple affect! Every day, I really do try to find something to be happy and/or grateful for.
Another thing which is very important to me is respect for each other. Respect for each other's feelings, respect for each other's opinions, respect for each other's space, etc.

@on the bay, I completely agree with you. We are heading down the wrong direction. And it is troubling when lies become truth to some. I am very worried for our country now and in the future. I don’t watch the news like I used to, but I refuse to “bury my head in the sand.”

I stopped watching the news. Amazing how much better I feel now.

I feel we are all feeling the stress in one way or another in today's world. Lots of good points on here. Trying times for sure..........I do worry for my adult children and what they will have to deal with when we are long gone. I'm one who is optimistic mostly, but honestly in all reality I don't see things getting much better in the future. The internet is a huge part of all of the nonsense and the noise, while we can't go back I long for the days when we didn't have it. I feel as others, I do the best I can do, be as kind as I can and I try to never, ever judge others.

Sums it up.

I'm another who now avoids the news! I will look at headlines perhaps once a day, but the crazy is too much for me. It makes me anxious & I just don't need that. I listen to music, watch YouTube and try to find peace with lighter subjects. I'm glad I am not coming of age in this era. I feel for kids & young adults with all the social media & expectations that it brings.
