Re: People On Foot Using The Drive-Thru

I have walked up to the drive through window at the bank.  During the Covid close down days The bank was open but they would ONLY take transactions via the drive through window.  Also the Drive through window Opens earlier than the doors at the bank. I've walked up to the window to take advantage of that. For quick deposits only though.

I have not ever done it for fast food.

Sure. In the 80's I worked in a downtown building that was across a parking lot from my bank. On paydays I'd walk over to the drive thru to deposit my paycheck into my account. So much faster than walking around the block to the lobby door of the bank.

I see no point in making people wait for me when I can go in and not hold up the line of cars.

At the grocery store I always let people with a few go ahead if I have a full cart.  Again, why make them wait.

@CrazyKittyLvr2   You would still be holding up the customers behind you inside the bank.

@Cakers3  If someone walks in at the same time as me and there only 1 empty teller window I tell them I will be a few minutes and to go ahead.

If I'm already being waited on and the person behind me has to wait for several minutes I apologize when I am done.

Probably many reasons for this.  It would not bother me. Perhaps going for a walk,  Perhaps no car.  Perhaps just a nice day and wanting to be outside.  Seems inside would hold up the line the same way.  Bank needs to post the rules.  Bet there were none.

If my transactions at the bank are likely to take a long time, I just wait for an available banker at one of the desks. I think they prefer it if you do that.

Re: People On Foot Using The Drive-Thru

The teller at the drive thru they should have told them they could not do their transactions there and would need to go inside the lobby. Maybe they didn't want to pay a teller fee that some banks charge. I see people walk up to drive thrus at fast food places all the time. Seems dangerous to me the way people drive. The worst is the ones who ride there horses up to the drive-thru. They need to have their horses to the potty before riding through the line.
