Re: People On Foot Using The Drive-Thru

The Bank of America has closed all drive in windows in the Albuquerque area branches so I guess it's a moot point.

Isn't that what ATMs are for???  Why use a drive thru??

Not everyone has an ATM card.

If I have a lot of cash to deposit, the ATM can't handle it and I wouldn't want to sit there and do multiple transactions.  I would use the regular drive thru and use the tube.

My mom never had an ATM card, my boss and VP don't either.

I bank for our company....deposits, payments etc.  The company doesn't have an ATM card.  I do drive through several times every week.

How come @Kachina624 ?

I haven't been inside a branch in at least 5 years.

I've done this once, it was early in the am, I needed cash, the ATM's were down, I looked around the corner at the drive thru, no cars waiting, used that ATM got my cash.  I would not do this on a regular basis, much too risky.

@RespectLife    I haven't either and don't know the reason.  I do everything online and rarely need cash.  I use my debit card for everything.  Deposit checks online.

Re: People On Foot Using The Drive-Thru

I have done the bank drive thru on foot several times.  My bank is on the lower floor of my office building but between closing early in the afternoon and with the covid shut down I did drive thru banking.  Most times I used my car when I left work for the day, but sometimes very often I would just walk across the street where the drive thru building is located.  During the shut down and if no other customers were waiting the tellers and I would talk for awhile to catch up.  I know it looked funny to see me leaning against the machine talking into the video monitor.  We even discussed our holiday menu's for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Benefit of the doubt:  hard times could mean they lost their transportation.

I'd use my car.

Re: People On Foot Using The Drive-Thru

I've done it once and I've seen it a few times over the years when I'm in line.

In my case, my neighbor purchased my car on a Friday afternoon and gave me a cashier's check.  I walked to our drive-thru only branch which is a couple of blocks away from me and on the other side of town from our main branch office.  I wouldn't want to do it again if I could avoid it because I felt unsafe.  The next morning, a family member drove me to pick up my new car that I had been working on with a sales associate the week prior. I believe it was on a Monday when I went to the same branch in my new car to make a transaction.  I didn't even notice but it was the same teller who waited on me a few days prior when I walked up and she shouted...."HEY, you got your car".

@CrazyKittyLvr2  I've done it once, for a reason I can't now recall. I think it had to do with my car acting up. And, I don't think it's safe. However, if you travel to Lancaster, you will probably see this:

Re: People On Foot Using The Drive-Thru

@kaydee50  I never really thought about this but the ATM at the bank I use has a drive through ATM. No inside ATM. I guess walk ups have no choice at this branch.
