@TenderMercies,OMG how awful is that!  What do they expect to happen to him?  Will he still be your neighbor?  Yikes.  LM

@Lilysmom Who knows?  I hope not!

I hope not too.  I wonder if the police can give you some info/advice in this regard, perhaps vis a vis the terms of his sentence.  Have to stay away from you/your area of residence.  I’d be asking those questions for sure.  Good luck!  LM

@TenderMercies, just saw that your neighbor has a law enforcement background.  I would definitely be having conversations with her about what is possible!

Well, my lands. I would be fuming, even if it was just in my kitchen.

I had a peeping tom years ago. Nothing like going outside and finding cigarette butts (espicially when you and your husband don't smoke) under all the bedroom windows, but a whole bunch underneath your elementary school age sons....and toddler daughters.

People are just sick.

My next door neighbor--a middle schooler--used to sit on his roof and gaze into my bedroom window.  I didn't know it at the time, though.  A detective following his case told me later.  He was a very sick cookie!!!

I just had a knock on my front door.  It was the police.  Apparently my next door neighbor, a 95 year old, male shut in who used to be a professional photographer was taking photographs of me in my home for years.  He was posting the photos on a website dedicated to and run by people who are into voyeurism.  I haven't seen any of the photos, because the website was shut down.  Someone reported it to the police, they traced his URL, and he's been arrested. I can't say I feel violated, because the only windows that face his are my kitchen windows, and I'm not one to walk around undressed.  The best he could have gotten would be me working on my computer at my bar or cooking and eating.  How's that for a bizarre Saturday afternoon!

@TenderMercies  I'm glad you don't seem freaked out about it.  He sounds pretty harmeless, and at least it's just you in the kitchen.

Well, my neighbor was able to get some information, and it doesn’t look to good for me.  Apparently it is really difficult to prosecute in cases like this, because there are several criteria which must be met and lines are blurred.  Two of the major issues here are that I was never photographed nude or partially nude and that I did not have a “reasonable expectation of privacy.”  That means that because I was aware of my neighbor and that I chose to leave my blinds open, neither they nor I can prove that I wasn’t inviting this kind of behavior.  The website was not illegal, and neither is posting pictures of fully clothed people on it.  They haven’t charged him with anything, and he was already released.
