Pebble headache

I started hearing a clicking sound under the hood of my car yesterday. It scared me! I was going to have it checked this morning, but the noise stopped a few minutes after driving it. I think it was a pebble! I asked some men and all of them scared me telling me the worst case scenarios. I talked to a friend today and she said "are you sure it was a pebble?" . Don't you extremely dislike negative people? I kind of gotn nervous but the car doesn't make any strange noises or vibrates. I'm looking forward to a peaceful weekend.
