I just ate my first local sweet juicy peach (over the sink)...it was SO GOOD! Between the peaches and tomatoes, I'm in Farmer's Market Heaven!

I like my peaches plain...or grilled.

But I have never made a peach pie in my life and I'm thinking there may be one in our future!

What's YOUR favorite late summer treat?

Hi Terrier3, sounds delish. I believe next weekend is the Lewiston Peach Festival. I make a peach pie from a recipie I saw on The Chew. You use a cast iron pan, and amaretto in the peaches.

I like peaches but not the fuzzy skin, so nectarines have become my favorite substitute.

Peach pie sounds delish. I can't remember ever having it before.

Love fresh peaches! Peaches and Amaretto? May have to check that one out. Never thought of Amaretto in my cobbler, but it sounds divine when you think about it.

I'm going to check out that recipe!

And maybe the Peach Festival too!

Don't really have a favorite as I generally like most all. I really like grilled peaches or nectarines - YUM!

I heard on the radio this morning that any peaches around her are more than likely going to be from another state. Apparently our harsh winter wiped out our peach growing.

Hi Mom! A muskmelon is usually much larger than a cantaloupe and the flavor is much more intense. They are only available about 2 weeks of the summer for peak flavor texture. They get very mushy after those 2 weeks. They are sweeter and better textured than the cantaloupes you get at the grocery store.

My peach tree only got 2 peaches this year. And they blew off in a thunderstorm {#emotions_dlg.w00t}{#emotions_dlg.lol}

I asked the nursery where I bought it, and he said a lot of trees didn't get fruit this year.

Last year, someone picked and ate them and left the pits

So next year will be year 3, I better get somes peaches.

Thanks scottie. I don't know if we have them out here but I will check it out. I like Honeydew Melons also.
