I know that I haven't used Paypal (knowingly) in years, but my credit card bills have charges made to "Paypal." I called Paypal and they said they charge sellers on Amazon and Ebay to use their name to ensure "faster delivery." They don't provide faster delivery. In my opinion, they are operating a questionable business.
What do you think?

All I know is that when I use the PP payment option, when listed on a website checkout page, then I can use any of the credit cards I have placed in my PP account and that way I don't have to give my cc info to the site from which I am making my purchase. I feel a bit more secure knowing that I can go back to PP to resolve any issues, if any, with purchases I have made using PP including shipping cost refunds.

ITA with @SilleeMee
I only have 1 card listed there to use online every place that will take Payal.
It beats putting my number out there on all those sites.
I use cards from Evine, Q & HSN instead of using my other cards. At least those cannot be used any place else.

Although I haven't given Paypal any info about me in years--current e-mail address or credit card info--they still bill my current credit card. How do they get that info????? Just sayin. . .

I'm not sure. Have you ever placed a cc into your PP account in the past? Maybe they still have it on your PP file somehow. My cards update automatically in my PP account and I don't have to change exp dates for them. Also, does your PP transaction history show any purchases that you made recently? @fortune

I like PayPal for the same reasons others are stating. You don’t have to enter card info on every website you visit. I’ve been very happy with it for several years.

@fortuneI haven't used either company for years, so my info may not be current but I think eBay and Paypal are linked. Maybe they share info to do business - check the privacy statements they sent you.

When I use PayPal it shows up on my statement as whatever the name of the business was. It never shows as being charged to PayPal. I would take them at their word as to why it says PayPal on your statement.

not sure I understand your question, I had a PP account years ago and closed it
some sites use PP as an option but I can still use any CC I like without a PP account.
I think as a an internet seller using PP is probably an easy alternative

From postings I note that many people love Paypal - but I don't go near them - IF IF WHEN - I see that's the only opinion to make a purchase = I leave that website.
**********Don't bother shooting arrows my way - this is just my opinion from my experience.
