Paul Newman on Forever Stamp!

[ Edited ]

Paul Newman is not being honored for distinguished film career, but for his meaningful philanthropy. The late actor really put his money where his mouth was. Every cent generated by his food products — sauces and salad dressings, etc, goes to his various foundations, including Newman's Own, The Hole in the Wall Gang, Help USA and Canary Foundation. Children are the major beneficiaries of his good will.

Now I have to go measure my bedroom to see how many stamps it will take to wallpaper the whole room, ceiling included. Hmmm imagine waking up to that face every day?

They chose a very nice picture!

So far, the only limited edition type stamps I've purchased lately were the Jimi Hendrix ones.  I am not sure how I feel about it, as I don't plan to actually USE them.  But it's a small amount of money for a collectable.  Smiley Happy

Still one of the classically handsome faces in the acting community.  Joanne Woodward knew what she was doing.

Great shot of him, getting a bit rugged and with that flattering silver hair - mmm...

A good human being and decent guy who deserves the honor!

Re: Paul Newman on Forever Stamp!

One of the most handsome actors of his day.  My mother loved him.  I used to work in the racebcar circuit with a friend of mine back in the 70's.  He was in the cafeteria line right beside me getting coffee, or something to eat.  I couldn't look at him as I was so nervous.  Thought I'd make a complete jerk out of myself if I looked and said anything to him.  It was a race in the Poconos here in PA.

And the'forever' is crossed out because he's dead?  We're losing them like the petals of a daisy
