My dh used to listen to him when he was a child and then lost news of him. Dh was delighted to "refind" him one day on the radio. Me? not so much.

That man could sell me anything.  If he said it, it was true.  I thought he passed before Tracfones were even invented.

He died in 2009. 

My son graduated HS in 2012, and I got him his first cell phone when he was in 8th grade, which would’ve been about 2007. Cell phones were out prior to that.
