Passport Question

Has anyone RECENTLY (in the past 1 -2 years) had to change their name on their Passport?

2 1/2 years ago I applied for my Passport prior to getting married. After I was married and changed my name I learned that I would have to apply for a new passport and pay the FEE again. Apparently after 9/11 the regs changed.

So my Passport is not valid as it is in my maiden name.

Has anything changed in the married name change/Passport game?
