Or the ""Thank you for stopping by today!""
As if!
I don't think in all my years here I have ever read ""thank you for stopping by TODAY""...

There wouldn't be an old adage about catching more flies with honey than vinegar if it weren't true.
If that's passive aggressive, I'm guilty.
I agree, reese. Some people are just angry souls, looking for a fight when none is needed. It really bugs them when no one cooperates.
I love your humor.

I think it is when a person says one thing - apparently telling you what they perceive you want to hear - then does something else behind your back, or goes along with you but gripes the entire time. An example - the other day I told my DH I was going to make baked potatoes on the grill and add some cheese to melt over them toward the end. He was all excited that they would be so delicious. Then - they turned out a mess - cheese all stuck to the foil I had wrapped them in and immediately he starts to gripe that he knew they would never turn out etc etc. And why on earth i just have to do krap to waste food is beyond him. And on & on it goes.

You 2 sounds like a ball of fun. Either you are complaining, he is complaining or you are complaining about him.
PS that isn't an example of passive aggression.

Is it passive-aggressive if I ask you why you were eating cheese melted on potatoes when you are on a diet?

"Passive aggressive people love to throw the last punch. So much so, that even when an argument has been reconciled, they slip one last insulting remark into the conversation. This remark is often more subtle than the ones which went before but it is still an insulting remark which allows them to feel victorious."

from wikipedia...
Passive-aggressive behavior is the indirect expression of hostility, such as through procrastination, sarcasm, stubbornness, sullenness, or deliberate or repeated failure to accomplish requested tasks for which one is (often explicitly) responsible.
