Thanks for the replies. Its interesting to read the various views.

I gave it some more thought. I actually wouldn't have been able to do that to my children when they were small. (At Christmas time that is).

I had taken away privileges or grounded them if my children misbehaved back when but it wasn't at Christmas. In fact my children were pretty well behaved, especially at Christmas due to worrying Santa wouldn't come! lol. (My children are now grown).

"For months.....l"? We always used the "from birth" method of behavior management, and it worked fine. They are seeking their nanosecond of fame, and they have gotten it! And just another thought, NO, parents are definitely NOT always the best judge of what their children need or the best ways to raise them.
