I remember counting the floors when I was first hired and thinking...huh?waa? where is the 13th floor?

13 ?? I don't understand that superstition or fear at all. Especially for the Xstian community. Weren't there 12 apostles? Guess who the 13th guy was? The one that so many put their faith and worship into, so why the apprehension to 13 ??

Well, you're wrong about who the 13th is referenced to be, historically. But I suspect you know that and are looking to ruin a fun, informative thread with troublemaking.

I should have added the buttons on the elevator was also missing the 13th floor and that was my 1st. clue.

Jesus was not the "13th guy". He was the one who the 12 followed. There were 12 disciples/apostles, until Judas betrayed Jesus, was outed, ran off and hung himself out of guilt. Matthias (different from Matthew), became the 12th after that.

Neither my DH or I are superstitious at all. Due to the associate of the #13 with bad luck, fortune, whatever, he would always turn it around and day Friday the 13th was his Lucky Day.

I think that's how they usually do it - they have the 12th floor, then the 14th floor is next.

I remember some weird movie about some kind of terror thing going on, on a 13th floor of a building. It was a long time ago.

Anyway, I LOVE Friday the 13th (well, except that I don't love Fridays in general). But it always gives me some extra energy. I need that! hehe
