Your sentence about building without a 13th floor...I work in an architect's office. When plans go out for bid, the sets are always numbered--but most contractors will NOT take a set number 13! So that's always the one we keep for our office set.

I worked for an oil company that was on the 13th floor but it was numbered the 12th floor.

I am trying to remember how it was done...maybe it was the 14th floor...but they skipped the 13th floor? I had never seen that done before. This was years ago. I could tell you the building...you would recognize it Cakers but I will not here.
