I would size up as long as they didn't end up fitting poorly in another area.

DesertDi:

Love your tape measure key ring!

What a handy gadget.  I'm going to find one at Amazon or somewhere.

Better than a measuring tape.  I've lost a few.

Or much better than a piece of twine (which I've used when I've lost my measuring tape(s).)

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

If you need to measure something that's not too large, all you need is a dollar bill from your wallet.

A paper bill is approximately 6 inches long.   How handy!

I've used this a few times and it worked well.

If you look at models Crystal and Bridget, they always have well fitted pants and tops on.

If a pair of pants is clutching at your legs and the seams are spreading, they're too tight.

Yep, a size up may be too big at the waist. Do it or take it to the cleaners, but get the pants that fit. They'll look expensive and beautiful on you if they fit.

I don't know if some of you agree with me. Whoever sizes some of these models on the Q with sizes that are much too small for their body types. When a top for instance is supposed to be loose fitting, they wear a size much to small including pants. A few hosts {no names mentioned} should be in a size larger but always say I am a small or med. when they need a large.

@Bonkers1 Just cut off the tag & wear a size that fits well. Brands vary in size, its just the way it is now.

I'm amazed how important it is to so many that they must have the smallest size.

I've seen SK wearing the same size pants as Katia and others standing next to them and obviously she's a much bigger person.

All those knit pants stretch as much as 6-18 inches, but you can still see they're still too small.

SK also wears an XS top. I'm a 32B and wear an XS top. She's much larger.

It's just crazy.

It is a little strange.  They would rather not look their best than have a label with the "wrong" number on it?

It's not like we walk around with the sizes visible to others, but it's obvious when someone is wearing something that doesn't fit properly!

I would size up or not buy the pants. I do understand about being hesitant about sizing up though, knowing you're a certain size and have been that size for a while and then along comes these pants and says you gotta size up one when wearing me. I've come across many brands where I'm my normal size, and other brands where I have to size up one to two sizes. As others have stated here, even the same brand you would have to wear different sizes. It all depends on how pants or tops are made, either relaxed or fitted. I find myself wearing leggings or joggers because they seem to be more forgiving. When I do finds jeans that fit me good, I buy a few pair because who knows when I'll be able to find good ones again.

Having read this post a few weeks ago and shaking my head  about the self inflicted stigma of going up a size---I bought some really cute crops from Macys and they were a little snug in my usual medium---so I went up to large and --they fit great and look great!! And guess what--my world didn't crash around me. Had to laugh.

I think it depends on the body type.

Sometimes pants look like leggings on  persons who have firm, compact, solid athletic legs.

In those cases, I (myself) would size up.

'But that's just me'.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
