Serenity and Rose Quartz
Pantone announced two colors for 2016, a soft blue and a soft pink. (Of course, there are always other colors included - see colors below.)

Excerpt from WSJ article:
"Pantone, owned by Washington, D.C.-based Danaher Corp., has a system that helps manufacturers define color precisely. Every year, the company polls décor and fashion designers, as well as manufacturers and retailers, on what colors they plan to use, led by Ms. Eiseman, to pick the color of the coming year. Pantone tips off some marketing partners so that they can create products, such as Sephora cosmetics and Keurig coffee makers, that use the colors. It even churns out its own popular mugs in the shades. This year’s mug will have both colors—one on each side, like yin and yang."

p.s. Shout out to @gardensla who I just noticed referenced Pink Quartz in a post way back in September.

It feels like a baby shower. The world can use some Serenity, though.

Thanks, HG!
I love looking at the new colors every year. I've always loved rose quartz, in fact, I just bought a Christmas sweater in that color. I've wanted one since I was a little kid.
I got into those two blues a few months ago, so I'm ready to go! ![]()

I really HATE when colors are described in non-color words!!
Isn't Serenity really Cornflower Blue?
Makeup that has non-color words as their name create more work for the prospective consumer .....
Example ....... Is "Happy" suposed to be a more bluish-red or is it an orangey-red? Maybe no one else is annoyed by this, but I sure am, lol.

I just wish the color names could give you an idea of what the color actually is without having to look at a color swatch. I sure saw a lot of interpretations for "marsala," and I'm still not sure what it is exactly, but I don't think I like it!

I just ordered four wicker chairs and an ottoman in a pinky peach, sky blue. soft lemony yellow and a bright apple green for my porch.
I'm furnishing a new house with these pretty colors thoughout (Bramble Furniture Co.---love them!)
As far as clothes, I've always worn these colors even in winter months.

Just bought Issac's wool blend off set zip jacket in pale pink. I love it. It is at the dressmakers having the sleeves shortened. I get to pick it up today!!!!

the only colors I like are snorked blue & iced coffee. I dislike pastels.
Marsala was the best color of the year - which is a brown-rose shade - can be darker (brown-red) or lighter (brown-pink) but it worked so well with my skin tone. Out of the last several years, this was my favorite color of the year pick from Pantone. I wonder what the color of the year for 2016 will be?
