I never wear yellow of any shade, and the gray flatters no one.....guess I will be "out of style" this year....

I love that yellow.  The gray not so much.

In our line of work PANTONE is the expert on color.....fashion, printed materials, etc.

I think they are beautiful colors, but not really for clothes. I think they might be good for office furnishings colors or maybe home decor in a contemporary style home.

Personally, I don't give a flying leap who or what Pantone is or what color they pronounce as the colors of the year. Just saying.

I would however, all during 2021 like to have a dollar every time one of the hostesses is hawking something yellow or gray and reminds us "this is a pantone color of the year".

Pantone annual color selections influence far more than clothing.  They're hints as to what you might find for home decor, such as fabrics, wall paint, pillows, etc.

For years, I've  already  used various gray shades for wall paint.  I like very pale yellow for certain items, such as table placements and certain serving dishes.

I've also always liked the combo of pale gray with a dusty coral or peach color.  And gray with pale yellow.  And yellow paired with a deep blue.

As for clothing, I look sick in yellow.  My best colors with very fair skin and light hair are more in the blue and pink ranges, or stronger tones of  burgundy, red, or teal/deep turquoise.

Pantone colors of the year are  likely to influence goods that you find out in the marketplace, but not necessarily what you want to wear.
