@Huge Hannah  My sister was crying because she was laughing so hard at what I was saying in making fun of it all. It's what I do to relieve my stress.

would someone please enlighten me?

What kind of turkey are people waiting in line for at Costco?

Thank you in advance.

Sorry, I do not have a clue. We bought our turkey at Sam's Club. They were handing out samples. My husband was quite impressed with how tasty the turkey was. It is a ButterBall fully cooked turkey breast that is fried.

We were talking to the lady handing out the samples. She said she just opened the package and cut the breast into chunks. And put the chunks into a fry pan to heat up. She didn't do anything else.

PS Many people were buying pies. But we ordered our pies from a local orchard.

So  -  do I go buy my pumpkin pie this afternoon or wait until early tomorrow morning?   Thoughts?

@millieshops  Last year, I had a frozen pumpkin pie, but after Thanksgiving, I bought a bakery one at Costco, any pumpkin pie will do for DH, but the Costco was really good.

Re: Panic is building at Costco

Went to Costco shortly after it opened. Got a great parking place.

Bought a new phone, had it activated and set up, did my shopping, ate a hotdog. In and out in about an hour and a half.  Most of that was for the phone.

I will be getting a $300 gift card in a few weeks.

Went to Stein Mart and picked up a couple of things. Not bad there either.

Lines were starting to get long at Costco,  but not horrible. No one was rude. No one was crying. Went to the grocery store and walked right up to an empty line.

Pretty easy day of it.

Re: Panic is building at Costco

@LTT1  I've only been to Costco a few times.  It is huge and you can buy lots of things in bulk.  I went a year ago September with my daughter when I relocated here.  She has a membership.

Their olive oil--Kirkland's is their house brand--is supposed to be rated among the best.  They have huge jars of premade pesto which is delicious.  Large families or people who have a lot of storage are their most loyal shoppers I think.  Some of their prepared foods are very good.  People shop there to pick up catering type foods for parties.  They also carry clothing, tires, appliances, you name it.  They have an excellent return policy.  They treat and compensate their employees well, last I knew.

Real vanilla extract is going up and up, as you may know.  I got an 16 0z. jar for about $16.00 that lasted 14 months.  I bake a lot.  I just got a jar the same size from another source and paid around $38.00.  I'm sure if I had gotten to Costco's I could have gotten it for less, guessing $28.00.

So I'm sure for all the holidays and for back-to-school it is steadily busy.

I love to shop, even for food, so I don't mind crowds.  If you are patient the line does move in any store and keeping my own attitude pleasant might just be contagious, at least that's what I believe.  I believe in the goodness of people and the "rightness" of things.
