I don't know why you are asking but when we were buying we were advised by several knowledgeable people to only consider buying south of Tampa if you want good weather all year. We ended up just south of Sarasota. I grew up spending much of my school vacations in the space coast area and loved it there until I got a taste of the Gulf coast - now you couldn't drag me away from here.

If you want facts, Google Palm Coast FL.   For some reason, we've been getting brochures for retirement communities in Palm Coast FL.  I have no idea why, we're only in our mid 50's, no where near retirement age.  But it looks nice....

I suppose I was a little vague in my query.  I am unfamiliar with that area and am considering areas to relocate to on the Southeast Coast north of OrlandoFl.

Someone mentioned checking out Palm Coast and I always like to hear from anyone who lives there or seasonal visited.

It's true, if you want facts you can Google, but if you would like personal, nice comments you can ask here. Right?

There are some gorgeous homes and condos at the beach. It's still pretty remote. They have basic shopping and some restaurants and chains, but you would have to travel up to at least the outlet mall in St Augustine or even Jacksonvillr for more upscale shopping. Daytona is south. They have a mall but not all that much either. I guess it depends on where you live now and what you are used to. And also how far you consider "far" to get to a larger market.

Outside of the beach area, you can probably get a good bang for your buck as far as housing. It's growing but still has a long way to go.

I live in St. Augustine and I have a friend who was a deputy sheriff for 10 years in Palm Coast (just retired out of there 2 years ago). He told me that there was Russian gang activity there. I think St. Augustine is a beautiful place to live. We live 1/2 hour north of Palm Coast. We have the outlets but most of the time I got to Jacksonville about 45 minutes to hit Costco or Sams. Tanager outlets are being built in Daytona on I95 and should open soon. I grew up in Massachusetts and I don't want to live any  further south than I do. Where I am in north Florida we get cold in December through the end of January or so. We get hot in June, July, August and September, really hot. from October to May is usually beautiful except this year we had hurricane Matthew. I have lived in St Augustine for 35 years now and would not like to live anywhere else. The mountains are 7 hours away, the beach is right here and we don't have snow. St. Johns County has the best health in the state and is the most wealthy county in Florida. We have a great life here. Palm Coast is not my thing.

I also live about 30 minutes from Palm Coast.  I am not a fan.  We go there occasionally for a store that is not any closer to me and can't wait to get out of there.  Traffic is bad and people are rude.  It started out as a retirement community and at one time we owned land there and planned to build one day.  We sold the land.  I would say you should just visit and see what you think.

Thank you all for your input. I think I will look at some other areas.
