@qqq I'm glad you posted again to clarify. I also feel badly that you were attacked based on being a new poster. Yes, there are posters, both new and long-time, who enjoy "stirring the pot." But it's also easy to make assumptions that simply aren't true.
I admit that I thought that you had attempted to have the package delivered to another address rather than having it held. Calling to prevent delivery was definitely a good idea. I think you should try calling UPS again and explain the situation as calmly and concisely as possible. There was A LOT going on at the time and it seems very possible to me that the service rep you spoke to initially misinterpreted what you said and assumed your address was going to be undeliverable for an extended period (as in destoyed or unihabitable). Can you imagine how many calls they would be receiving, many from people in varying stages of fear, shock, panic?

Thank you. The package is on its way back to the Q as of yesterday. Now at the top of the UPS tracking page it says that anyone impacted by the fires will get a free month of changes to their packages. I must not of been alone when it came to getting charged for something I had no control over. I will deal with the Q once I see they got it back.
I must have fell through the cracks some how with UPS. It's fine. I'm home safe with my rescue kitty and my house is still here. It rained all night. I'm blessed. Thanks to all who tried to help. To the ladies with the nasty comments I wish you well because you definitely have big life issues to deal with.
