Thanks for your post @dooBdoo!  I couldn't agree more.  I do believe that, to a large extent, life is what you make it and attitude is everything.  I think at some point, if you want to make it in this world and find peace and happiness along the way, you have to adopt these principles and adjust your outlook.  Once I started to understand this, it was like a weight off of my shoulders.  It was freeing to know I held that kind of power, you know?  Not that I'm done yet... I still have a long way to go!  But the best part about it is that with each new day, you have another opportunity to grow.  It's never too late!  Woman Happy

Hi, @AliJoi5!  You're welcome!  I do agree with your comments.  Even with the combination of joy and hardships everyone faces, we do have a choice in the way we view what happens.  Sometimes it's hard to accept, because it means we have to take responsibility for our reaction to everything life hands to us rather than allowing ourselves to feel despondent and place the blame on the circumstances.  It's not a simple concept, but certainly worth knowing and working toward embracing.

It's all part of self-awareness, and self-awareness isn't easy.

Thanks, again, for this great thread.Smiley

Well said @dooBdoo!  I especially like what you said about it being difficult because it means having to take some responsibility (and that can be scary, as we all know).  Regret was something that really held me back in the past.  It took me longer than I care to admit to actually face it, accept my bad decisions, and then... give myself a break!

Thanks again for sharing!  So many bright, thoughtful ladies on this board!!  Slightly Smiling Face
