Diana and I were nearly the exact same age, and the difference in experience, schooling, tastes, age...was extreme.I don't think Prince Charles is an idiot. I think he was a man deprived of the woman he loved and made to marry someone he didn't. I have no doubt that it was common practice to have a mistress and even encouraged. His great grandfather did and his great great grandfather did. Thank goodness the laws changed and he was able to marry who he wanted in the end. Not sure Diana cared much for her husband or the royal family. Her lifestyle contributed to much embarrassment and I believe her death. Regardless of any press article, William loves his father as he did his mother and I am sure Charles will be a part of George's life being he is third in line to the throne.

If you look at the body language in some of the pictures, you can tell.

Hush your mouth. Around here she is St. Diana.

Personally, I've always thought Charles was an arrogant idiot, so this doesn't surprise me at all.
Your thoughts ?
Don't believe everything you read in a gossip rag, as the gospel truth.
The Daily Beast is something you line your bird cage with.

I've always read the opposite, Charles never loved her, he married for an heir and to stay away from the Camilla scandal.
I don't understand the point of your being the same age. She was from England and had a very different life.

Of course she was an emotional wreck. Charles wasn't hiding his affair.
She ignored the advice of others? Wow, unheard of for a 19 year old and a few years more.

I don't believe much of what I read about the royals. Especially when it is coming from a source like that.

From what I can tell, he and the Queen Mum had some knock out fights about the issue, he would have had to abdicate.
Well, that still would have taken some balls.
And a certain integrity.
There Is considered to be much more behind the abdication of the throne by the Duke of Windsor. Historians have long explored indications that the real reason the British Government wanted the Duke out of their way and NOT on the throne had more to do with his N az i sympathsizings. Simpson of course was blamed by some for influencing him. She was always resented by the British public.

I like Prince Charles, and I'm glad he and Camilla are married.
I like Princess Diana also but I don't have any illusions about her.
