If I got called on for local jury duty it should not matter if I don't have a real ID.  I've read it's Levels 3, 4, and 5 Federal buildings. I think Level 5 is the Pentagon etc.

I'm 69 yrs. old and have never been called for jury duty.

If I get called for a Federal jury I have all my documents I can go get a Real ID if necessary.

How on earth have you managed that. I have been called multiple times. I have even served as jury foreman years ago.

There was a time when I was starting to wonder if they were waiting the required 18 months before recalling me. Luckily, more people have moved to the area where I live so they have a larger pool to pick from but wow you have been lucky.

I didn't know about it when I renewed my licence in Aug 2018, so I didn't have the needed documentation with me.  They said I could come back another day.  After waiting, I just wanted to get it over with.  I have to pay $30 or $35 to get it upgraded.  I am going to do it in November, so I don't have to worry about bringing a passport.

I hope that people realize that they will need a Real I.D. to get in to government buildings, such as courthouses, and not just to travel domestically.

You're right.

It's for all government and federal buidlings/properties.

This would also include any military bases.

My license came up for renewal last year and I decided to get the Real I.D. instead.

I have appt at dmv in 3 weeks to get it.  I had to renew my license last March, but forgot some paperwork.  Then I couldn't get an apt til now.  Geesh. I could have just gone back and waited like most everyone.  But I don't want to.  No where to sit, and it is too long standing

Re: POLL: Real ID⭐️

No I dont have the real ID. I dont fly anymore. My husband isnt getting one either because he will never fly (by choice). If I still flew Id have gotten one. I might add I think  its ridiculous to have to have one. Just more money.

I renewed my license last November, the updated Real ID requirments was not a biggie, just brought my passport, maybe a utility bill?

I think I'd rather carry the Real ID instead of taking my passport whenever needed. I'd hate to take a chance on losing my passport.

I have made the decision not to have the real ID drivers license.   I am 64 and have never flown, nor have intentions to fly anywhere.   I rarely cross county lines, let alone state lines in my car; I just don’t travel.

My family has been excused from jury duty every time our name has come up, because of being related to several members of law enforcement.

I know how you feel...

Where we used to live, my husband and I used to think that maybe we were part of a pool of like maybe ten people or something, because it seemed like between the two of us, we were getting called sooner than that length of time, too. Smiley LOL
