I avoid malls if at all possible. I do enjoy those new lifestyle shopping centers that are like an outdoor mall/traditional shopping center. I use the Dillard's here in West Texas for apparel and beauty items. Some cosmetics and skincare that are replenishments can be ordered online. I prefer to shop for new items in Nordstrom or Neiman's because they often have experts at the counters who are employed by the company. (That entails a trip to a major city.) They know the products and can give sound advice.
In New Mexico we have wonderful small shops owned by local residents where we find all kinds of delights.
I have limited to no success shopping for clothing online. I am very particular and difficult to please with fabric and fit. Even apparel I know like a Foxcroft blouse is difficult to buy online. Some of their fabrics are stiff, and I won't wear them. I ordered a pair of SAS mules last summer thinking how could that not work. It didn't. Never again. Shoes will be bought at a store.
My greatest loss in store closings thus far has been Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It was our go to source for so many household items.

I LOVE shopping in B&M stores.
I would go once a week if I could, but usually it is once a month.
The problem is I am always tempted to buy something, so I have to practice "avoidance shopping" if I want to save my money for vacations (another favorite pastime.)
Our King of Prussia mall is superb--every type of store one can consider. Nearby in NJ is the Cherry Hill Mall--also pretty busy, and we have many other malls available, as well as Center CIty Philadelphia.
I like watching all the shopping channels, and I do purchase a fair amount from QVC, mainly just casual stuff. Usually big ticket items always come from B&M stores!
@FancyPhillyshopper .. I live close to the KofP Mall too and feel the complete opposite. It has gotten so big I can't walk the entire mall. I used to but shopping online is so much easier, even if I have to pay shipping.

Nothing about going shopping appeals to me at all now. I am so happy that I can get anything I need on line, and pick up groceries.
Life is good without going to the mall.

I have always enjoyed being out and about and going to different stores to shop. I like being able to see what I am purchasing in person, be around people and whether I browse or buy support these stores. While I am physically able to drive, I will continue to support local businesses.
Online shopping at certain sites like Amazon is not for me and I will leave it at that.

@Tinkrbl44 It is sad to me that many stores and malls have closed. I think of all the jobs being lost. I used to love shopping, but not so much anymore.
I remember when our local mall was built in the 50's. We had lovely stores, Jordan Marsh, Filene's and Lord and Taylor. I mostly shopped at those stores.
Filene's and Lord and Taylor are now gone. Jordan Marsh was bought by Macy's and that is not as nice as the previous store.
There is not much of a petite department now. In fact, I have gone in twice in the past year, with gift cards and walked out with nothing. It was so disappointing, with so little available in clothing offerings and shoes/boots. In the past, I never walked out of a store empty handed.
I ended up at DSW and bought three pairs of boots and a pair of shoes. Macy's gift cards I use by shopping online. Much more of a selection is offered online for clothing. I have been buying all my underwear online from Macy's for years. They have great sales and that is when I buy my panties and bras.
They also have a lot of discount coupons and earned Macy's
points. I also buy all my towels and linens online from Macy's.
I feel badly, but so much more is offered online than instore.
I do miss Linens and Things and Bed, Bath and Beyond, but
most housewares and linens can be found on Macy's website.
Estee Lauder cosmetics I also buy online from Macy's.

I don't do very much shopping in the malls anymore. Some of the best stores (Lord & Taylor) are gone. Nordstrom's isn't doing very well around here either...sadly. I do most of it online now. I do enjoy walking the mall from time to time, but it seems like the clothing there is more for the younger crowd.

I never walk into any stores or malls to shop anymore. I value my life more than shopping in stores or malls these days.

I don't like shopping online. I go to the mall near me every week, though I must say I don't really shop much. I have too much stuff so only buy needs, mostly, not wants.

Online mostly because of the convenience and selection but I do miss the idea of a mall. Even though I was never a huge mall shopper I did like to go a couple times a year just to wander and look....
Now a lot of malls are scary and ghost town feeling....not the same.
Also, anytime I do find things to buy in B+M stores I always hesitate to buy because I always feel like I could find it cheaper or a better version online....

Years ago I used to go through the malls as if I was on a "reconnaissance mission" .... no intention of actually spending but just to see what's in the stores and get ideas for future purchases.
Most of the time when I wasn't buying, I actually didn't buy. lol
