@Lindsays Grandma. My doctor had me get two pneumonia shots, one each in consecutive years. Just have to do the two shots one time, not every year. Has your physician recommended those to you?

@Pearlee   I'm the one who has said no for years when it comes to all the shots.  I had a doctor a long time ago who was against many of the shots they gave, the pneumonia shot was not among them at that time.  I have been very lucky all my life, when people at work were getting sick around me I was going strong.  I'm a lot older now ad I'm beginning to think I need to change my ways.  Woman LOL

Re: PNEUMONIA, WHO KNEW?

Lindsays Grandma,

I'm happy to know that you were quick to get professional help for a concerning situation.  Very wise of you.

As for the cellulitis, several years ago I suffered from it.  I believe its origin was a nasty spider bite that I scratched a little too vigorously.  I kept getting bounced around between my internist group and my dermatologist because it simply continued to worsen rather than improve, even with antibiotics in my system and topically on the wound itself.

After several doctor visits and a variety of medical approaches, my condition finally improved, but it was somewhat alarming when two small puncture wounds would not heal and the redness spread.  And yes, the doctors did encircle my original red area with a magic marker to see if it "grew," which was a concern.

It took over two weeks to tame it.

Get well soon!

@golding76 ...The last time I had cellulitis whatever that doctor prescribed for me worked like a charm.  I believe it was an antibiotic.  The medicine I have now is different and very strong.  Of course one is for the pneumonia and I have no way of knowing which is for which.  And oh, they didn't circle the cellulitis but I'm watching it.  Thanks for your concern and well wishes.
