PAYPAL and Mr. Rebates.

[ Edited ]

I normally have my Mr. Rebates balance transferred to Paypal every month, and have immediate access to those funds.

This past month, Paypal is asking for Photo ID or other documentation to show it's me.  I rarely use my account except to send funds to charity groups, so I'm not sure what's going on.  I tried uploading a photo of my Driver's License, but nothing changed.

I will call them later this morning (they are on Pacific Time), but I wonder if this has happened to anyone else.

Are you certain that it is from PayPal? I have never received such a request

I haven't gotten that request... was it an email or a message you saw when you logged in to your PayPal account? When I get emails from PayPal wanting info I never open them, I go to my account & check for messages...all those emails have been bogus. Good Luck.

@Witchy Woman The only emails I get from PayPal are about money added, money spent, and changes in their user agreement.

Maybe “nothing changed” after you exposed your driver’s license; I would be very concerned.

@esmerelda

I did call them and they are updating their security process.

The customer service rep walked me through the info and my account was restored to it's normal setting.

Yes, I was concerned, but after calling PP directly, I'm OK with it.
