Re: PAPYRUS Card Stores to Close

I didn't realize they had stand alone stores either.  I only know them from seeing their cards at Target and maybe a couple of other stores.  I've never purchased them as they're quite expensive and I refuse to spend that much on cards.  I don't think our Target carried their wrapping paper & other goods and I didn't know Papyrus even had those items.

Re: PAPYRUS Card Stores to Close

Papyrus stores are on practically every corner of the city I live. Nice cards, paper, but really, $5+ for a card? No thanks. They didn't always market their cards so "precious" in cellophane which I imagine increases the price.

Papyrus has beautiful cards and stationery, but people these days don't really write or send cards or letters any more.

So true.  I imagine all the card companies are hurting for that reason.  Well, that and the fact that cards are priced $5.99 and up.

When I have to send a card with an enclosed note (e.g., condolences), I type the note on the computer because it's easier - and more legible - than hand writing

I did not know they had stand alone stores.  I like their cards and they seem to be in all the grocery stores and drug stores.

Re: PAPYRUS Card Stores to Close

I have never heard of this store, but as has already been pointed out, people don't write letters and stick them in the mail anymore, people don't send cards anymore.

Why spend $5.00+ for a single card, that's just going to be tossed, when one can get a card from the Dollar Store for a buck?

I love Papyrus cards.  They're beautiful.

I buy them from Target.  Even my grocery store carries them.

I still buy nice cards for people.

@Bri369 -So do I.
