@shoekitty It's an understatement to write that he was a character.  He was over the top.  RIP Ozzy!  He was fortunate to have Sharon in his life.  Prayers to his family!

Back in my younger days, I really liked his band.  In my older years, not so much.  But you have to give credit where credit is due.  On t.v. they called him the Prince of Darkness!  A fitting title!  I used to watch their reality family show and I loved it.  Yes, Sharon always seemed to be his rock who stayed with him no matter what.  She was the glue that held the family together.  The one daughter, Amy, you never see, as she chose to stay out of the limelight.  It's very sad.  Another passing of a unique talent!

My first memory of Ozzy was back in 1972 or thereabouts and the album Paranoid - I believe it was Black Sabbath's 1st album, had come out.  I was over my friends house, and we were sitting with a group of friends and Paranoid was put on the stereo to play.

The opening tune was IronMan and I LOVED it.  I also liked the song Paranoid as I can recall.  Why that memory sticks in my head I don't know.

I liked quite a few of his songs over the decades.  I feel so bad for his family - Sharon and their kids - even though they knew he had health issues, you can never prepare yourself for a loved ones departure.  The fact he had just given a huge concert a few weeks ago, and donated all the money to charity was a wonderful send off.

Gone but never forgotton.  RIP and God Speed.

The King's Guard at Buckingham Palace played an amazing tribute to Ozzy.  I don't think it's allowed to post a link, but anyone interested can google it.
