Re: Overstock bought Bed Bath and Beyond

didn't buy their location stores just gonna be a online deal. Gonna be overstock and Bed and bath all in one.

Probably don't want to fight the thieves, etc. Just buy online more load for the mailmen.

@SharkE   There was a thread yesterday that explains it very thoroughly. The way I understood it was they're not reopening the retail stores.

Re: Overstock bought Bed Bath and Beyond

They are just buying the intellectual property of the name because it is so well known.  The store is NOT the same, everything will be new, nothing previous will continue to work.

I used to look at jewelry on Overstock but I never bought anything. They had a lot of sales gimmicks.  BB&B was the go-to store for towels and home products, but I do not really need anything anymore.

This happened with Lord and Taylor--someone bought their name and sells "stuff," online only, but all the L & T stores are gone, the credit cards and coupons no longer work, and all staff has been replaced by the new owners.

I keep seeing so many old famous store names disappear forever, but I consider the store gone as well when just the name remains.

I do not shop any of those places--they are just a step below Amazon, which I also avoid (online conglomerate mish-mashes with no real focus or personality).

I think ShopHQ will soon be gone, sadly as well.

I just spent a few hours today at the mall, and I purchased a great dress at Macy's that fit perfectly.  I do love in-store shopping!

Re: Overstock bought Bed Bath and Beyond

Me too. Who wants to sit home in a chair and stare at pages and pages of stuff. I'd rather get out of the house

and see stuff that I'm paying for. I order a lot from QVC and HSN. Stuff that I can't get local.

I still want to go out and try on stuff in person. You get it NOW, no waiting, no sending back hassle, etc.

I hope the stores stay open and we're not moving into the

Jetson age.
