I said it as a teen.  Everyone said in my generation and this one.  It's a midewest creation, but it's said everywhere.

@barefootwillowI agree.  I thanked someone coming to Christmas celebration and she said "no problem."  I get that in stores too.  "You are welcome" is a much better response.

I'm pretty much a 'live and let live' person, but when I hear 'stinkin' cute' I actually cringe.   

If somebody, for example on QVC, says that I am out and I'm not coming back!    Just no.   

I'd never actually heard that until I heard it on QVC, so I don't know where it comes from (although I can guess), but - well, just WHY?
