If you eat over night oats; what liquid do you like to use?
What do you like to make yours in?

We use Lactaid milk and use little mason jars with lids.

I use 4 cups of boiling water to 1 cup of steel-cut oats in a big saucepan. Also stir in 1/4 tsp salt.

I make overnight oatmeal in a crockpot and use water. It gets thick so I add 2% milk or oat milk to give it a richer tast.

@Mindy D I use either oat milk or almond milk

I use 1/3 cup of organic oats and about 2/3 to 3/4 cup of skim milk. I use a microwaveable bowl. Stick it in the fridge overnight and then microwave it in the morning for about 90 seconds, stirring half way through.
I add some sort of fruit and sometimes a few walnuts. Never any sugar or salt.

Hi @Mindy D
I make overnight oats with either coconut milk or almond milk. Those are the types I usually buy. But I have also used soy milk.
I make mine in a tall (i think it's the 4 cup size) ziploc container.
Here's my recipe:
1 cup rolled oats (I prefer trader joe's)
1/4 chia seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
a splash of vanilla extract
a dash of nutmeg
2 cups milk
Mix the dry ingredients in the ziploc container
mix the wet ingredients in a separate container (I use a measuring cup)
pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
stir to combine
store in fridge overnight
stir before before portioning out 1 serving
heat in microwave 1 min
Note: add in raisins, walnuts, sliced banana or other fruit, brown sugar, maple syrup (whatever you like) before or after heating. Don't mix in overnight.
No. I don't eat the overnight oats cold. Overnight oats in the fridge (without heat) make for a chewier texture that I prefer. I make the oats in the fridge but heat up in the microwave just before I am ready to eat.

I mix with flavored greek yogurt and lactaid milk, I add cinnamon and vanilla extract. I put honey in sometimes or just some equal. I eat it cold. I also add dried rose petals when I have them, my husband brings them from overseas. I also make an overnight blend with chia seeds also.
