We have over 6" of snow today.  It started around 1:00 a.m. and is still nowing.  It is 27 degrees now with a wind chill of 17 degrees.  It will be 61 degrees again on Monday.  Yesterday it was 64 degrees and was 74 degrees just a few days earlier.  This is as much snow as we usually get in a year.  It will be 61 degrees again on Monday.  I'm in East TN.

It was quite a temp swing. It was in the 60s yesterday and I wore just a light shirt and no jacket outside in the afternoon. And then last night it snowed. I agree it was pretty wild. Much of our snow melted in the sun today.

Winter this year is full of surprises.  You have much more than we have.  I hope you stay safe.

We began our morning with freezing rain, turned to heavy "wet" snow, turned to flurries, turned back to freezing rain.  As of now, we got 1" of snow but the blustery winds have returned.  We've had quite a bit of them this winter.  We had low 50s yesterday, today including wind chills, I think we're at 22 deg.  Supposedly, we get some 60 deg. days this coming week.

I think the bomb cyclone was focused more on the interior NE areas.  I didn't realize it was in your area also.  Does Sweet Ava enjoy romping around in it?

It started out as rain, then snow but not much. Barely an inch for us.  But a lot of wind and cold temp.  It dropped down this afternoon to 28F.  It'll warm back up to the 70s' by later this week.

My parents live in Johnson City! I love that city!

They got over 4" and lost power for about an hour. Mother said her cell phone power was running low during the outage. I reminded her of the halo bolt we bought them that I make sure stays charged when visiting. She had forgotten all about it, but used it to charge her phone. She was quite happy to have it in such a cold winter's day.

stay warm and safe!

@sceniccoast   Ava doesn't mind the snow if it's not so cold.  Yesterday was just bitter cold, and it was 15 degrees when we got up this morning.  Brrr!

We still have a lot of snow on the ground, but the roads were clear yesterday.  It has been so warm lately that the pavement just wasn't cold enough for it to stick.

@fthunt   I have large blackbirds at my feeders this morning.  They won't let the other birds come to the feeders.  I have a caged feeder for mealworms for the bluebirds and other small songbirds.  Even being inside the cage the mealworms are covered in snow.

@NickNack  Those darn blackbirds.  I so dislike them.

Geez, that temperature is really cold.  It certainly doesn't help keeping the fuel costs down.  I hope today's weather is an improvement over yesterday for you.  Your pic yesterday was so pretty though with the snow glistening, sparkling.  And I love watching the the birds & squirrels against the fresh background.

We're fortunate to start our day with bright, welcoming sunshine.  Yeah!

@KailaS  You have the hardest job on you right now.  Bless your heart and best wishes, it isn't easy.  But you're probably the best nurse/caregiver she'll ever have. If you ever have to turn over the job to someone else, I'm sure you're the best she's had/have.

It's still snowing here.  Can't believe it, but it's due warmer temps this next week.  We had to get groceries today, so I wished the greeter a Merry Christmas when we left.

Very pretty!

We're south of you, the same system passed over us and left an inch in our cove.
