Huh? Are you telling me that our tear ducts dry up at menopause too?

Never heard this, but when I was going through menopause, I cried at everything!

Yes, I still cry, and I will turn 65 next week .......... that is something for me to definitely cry about!!!

After menopause I suffered from severe dry eyes, but it certainly doesn't keep me from crying.

Yes I still cry, but now it seems more about deaths: mother, father, brother, sister, daughter, friends, and of course pets.

Yes! I Still cry, sometimes when I'm happy and sad. Haven't seen a change with age.

It's really strange, but I can feel very deep sadness about a lot of things going on in the world, how people treat each other, cruelty, injustice, etc. but tears just don't come anymore. I think I'm "cried out".

Of course. Thankfully, when I now cry, it's not becuase of horrendous PMS! There's usually a rational reason now.

Re: Over 50's - Do You Still Cry?

I still cry often...whether extremely sad or extremely glad! I tear up over family and friend's issues, but then seeing a parade (flag, 4th of July etc) can make me cry! Graduations, marriages and adoptions make me "happy" cry! Certain dates (deaths, marriages etc) can me me teary all day. I always tear up seeing those TV scenes of American service people coming home to their families! Special commercials also make me tear up - the Folger's ad of the brother coming home at Christmas always gets me because that exact thing happened to me!

Re: Over 50's - Do You Still Cry?

Now that I think about it, I don't cry much (I am 60). I used to be much more tearful when I was younger. Maybe I just developed a thick skin. Careless remarks from others don't have much effect on me. I shrug or laugh them off. My mom died in March and I hardly cried, but she was ill for a long time. I must be all cried out.
