Re: Out for a quick shopping trip

I usually shop at BJ's on Monday or Tuesday, depending on the weather or other obligations. I was there today and they were pretty well-stocked, but this is the second week in a row that they haven't had any honey and fresh chicken has been limited to one package per membership. While they still have most items, the quantities are lower than usual. On the rare occasions that I go to our local Harris Teeter, I've seen some empty shelves in more than a few areas. DS tells me that empty shelves have been common at our local Giant since the beginning of the year.

Re: Out for a quick shopping trip

I did my weekly shopping this morning as well. Did not have the same experiece as you did at all. No angry shoppers at all, store was relatively well stocked. I got just about everything on my list. There were a few shelves and items that were sparse, but there were plenty of other similar choices. This was in Northern NJ/Lower Hudson Valley NY.

Lots of angry shoppers.

Empty shelves and......

No paperads in the store ( flyers)

Miserable trip

It makes NO sense to get angry over something that we as individuals can't control.

Those responsible for the way things are...are NOT in the store, or your town or county.  We know where they are....

Everyone knows the issues with supplies.  There is food available, we will not starve.

Just go to Plan B!

I have stopped purchasing certain things I normally do because the prices are ridiculous.

@RespectLife I get upset because I don't see much productive being done about it. . .

Re: Out for a quick shopping trip

@Group 5 minus 1   That's too bad all the way around. Perhaps I'm lucky in not having had this happen when I'm out. I do see empty spots on shelves here/there now and then. I deal. Seems I'm really lucky most times in snagging the last one of something I'm looking for. That's happened a lot. I've also noticed flyers have been in place too.

Anyway, I'm sorry your trip wasn't good.

Shoppers were throwing their stuff into their shopping carts-violently (poor word choice, sorry). We were out for a quick trip--took longer than we thought.

Re: Out for a quick shopping trip

I went shopping, last Thursday and today.  No fresh asparagus.   The frozen chicken section, NOTHING, both days.  No chicken tenders, nuggets, patties.  No plain, BBQ, or buffalo.  Also, the frozen breakfast items were also bare.  Waffles, pancakes, French toast sticks.  Didn’t notice this last week, but the chicken is now still not restocked.  I thought maybe last week because of Super Bowl. Who knows.

The rest of the store seemed pretty stocked though.

Re: Out for a quick shopping trip

@Group 5 minus 1 Seriously? People were angry that there were no paper ads in store?

And, they were violently throwing things into their carts?

Was there a drunken mob at this grocery store?

That sounds like a rough day at the grocery.

Dusty1: A lot of the things in the sales flyer were not on the shelves.

We look at the computer for prices, etc, but needed a flyer to ask about something at the service desk. Of course,it wasn't available.
