@Lali1  thank you!  We certainly love it and picked a beautiful place to retire.   Our eldest lives in San Antonio, and he drew the short straw.

Re: Our first EVER newborn fawn

A couple years ago, a mama deer dropped her twins across the street from us in the woods and led them over to our back yard as soon as they could walk--you could still see the umbilical cords on both and that wobbly way babies have.  that whole spring summer , mama would bring them over thru our yard,  so I got to see them grow up, one doe and one buck---so cute!!!! Really an honor to witness!!!

So beautiful....we feed deer shelled corn year round by the woods off our patio. There are 2 does coming up daily that must be ready to give birth any time now. They live in the woods, so we don't see the newborns, but anxiously await the mamas to bring their babies up after a couple of months. What a sight that must have been for you!

Re: Our first EVER newborn fawn

Last June in the woods we unexpectedly rode our horses right by twins that were still wet. One was struggling to stand, the other still lying down. Took a moment to take it in and left quickly. Mother ran a very short distance but stopped and watched us continue down the path.

I’m sure they were just as surprised as we were.
