Re: Our dentist is cancelling non essential appointments

My husband had an appointment soon, and I was going to talk to him about cancelling it, but they called and beat us to it. I have one in April, and I expect to cancel it as well. They are rescheduling for June right now, but the latest information is that we could be dealing with this through July and August, so who knows.

I have upcoming mammogram and routine pap coming up in late spring, and I'm anticipating that they might be canceling those kinds of appointments as well.

Just received an email from my dental  office  closed til further notice!

Re: Our dentist is cancelling non essential appointments

My DD works at a dental lab and makes the dental appliances for the dentists and she will prob be home soon.  Dentists are closing except for emergencies----she says it has been slowing down. My son works in an orthotic lab--(for feet) but he works on computers making the inserts and not quite sure if that medical industry with do the same-----all very confusing----

Re: Our dentist is cancelling non essential appointments

I had my regular hygiene appt. scheduled for next week. I jumped for joy when that email popped up!!!

After my experience in the last few months w/ 4 root canal appts. and my general dental fears (root canal did nothing to help), I'll be more than happy to postpone my appointment. In fact, book all the others before mine.

@wagirl   Medical offices are making individual decisions. Here most physicians' and dental offices are not seeing patients, but available by phone for emergencies. My hearing aid office has curb side, drive by service for cleanings/batteries.

My dentist's office did the same.  His office sent out an email yesterday that informed us that the staff would be available for emergencies only.

The email cited the ADA for the guidance that they are following.

[ Edited ]

Just came back home from my dentist appt. here in PA.

A sign is posted on the door to check in inside and then go sit in your

car and wait to be called. The waiting room is closed. So at least I got

to listen to my own music and not watch their dumb t.v. shows.

The dentist came outside and right up to my car. I was surprised and

thought it would be the receptionist. Was pretty weird but I went right

in and washed my hands before I sat down and when my cleaning was

completed. Also had to rinse my mouth with a hydrogen peroxide rinse

before they would start the cleaning procedure.

No cavities or problems and I am good until late September.

Re: Our dentist is cancelling non essential appointments

My eye doctor's office called to confirm my Friday appointment, which is in a professional building attached to my hospital.   There is no way I'm going!

She wasn't surprised when I cancelled.

I've been fighting a chalazion (stye) & was going back for a recheck & vision exam.

The treatment I received a couple of weeks ago is working for now.
